  • Leadership at NCI

    As of October 1st, Stephanie Giordano and Dorothy Hiersteiner are Co-Directors of the National Core Indicators surveys, including leadership of NCI-IDD, NCI-AD, the NCI-IDD Family Surveys, and NCI-IDD Staff Stability (workforce) Survey.

    Stephanie has been on the NCI team for 10 years and has served as the interim director of NCI-AD for the past year.  Dorothy has been on the NCI team for nine years and has most recently served as the Assistant Director for NCI-IDD. For more info, see here. 

    Alixe Bonardi will continue to be a member of the NCI team, helping to push forward NCI’s role as a national resource describing the experiences and outcomes of people who receive LTSS.

    This is a particularly important time for advancing innovative and quality person-centered supports for people with disabilities to live and thrive as fully-engaged members of their communities. It is with great enthusiasm that we build on NCI’s solid foundation and look to the future under Stephanie and Dorothy’s new leadership. Along with Laura Vegas, the NCI-IDD Director at NASDDDS and April Young, the NCI-AD Director at ADvancing States, we look forward to continuing our work to help systems better measure and understand how to improve outcomes for people who are receiving services and those who support them.

     

  • September 12-18: Direct Support Professional Recognition Week

    September 12-18 is Direct Support Professional (DSP) Recognition Week! This week, we commemorate the essential work DSPs do to support people with IDD to achieve their goals and live the lives of their choosing. The NCI Staff Stability Survey assess the stability and quality of the DSP workforce across the country, and provides states with essential information they need to develop strategies to hire and retain a quality DSP workforce. Check out some of the data demonstrated in the 2019 Staff Stability Survey. The full report is available here.
