  • 2020 Staff Stability Report and COVID-Supplement

    COVID-19 disruptions have resulted in program closures, dislocation of people receiving services, and people with IDD and families waiting for services because staff aren’t available. Data from the NCI-IDD Staff Stability Survey and COVID Supplement from 2020 provide a graphic picture of these issues and the challenges faced by staff and providers during the first year of the pandemic.

  • National Core Indicators®-IDD Data Highlight: What Do NCI Data Tell Us About the Impact of COVID-19 on Families

    COVID-19 is continuing to disrupt the lives of families around the country but poses particular challenges to families who have a child or adult with IDD living at home. Check out this data highlight NCI-IDD Adult Family Survey data from the COVID Supplement implemented in 2020-21. These data demonstrate the impact of COVD-19 on families who have a family member receiving state DD services and living at home.

  • 14 NCI-IDD IPS Measures Endorsed by National Quality Forum

    The National Quality Forum has endorsed 14 NCI measures.

    The 14 measures consisted of:

    Five measures in the NQF HCBS Domain: Person-Centered Planning (PCP) and Coordination

    • The proportion of people who express they want a job who have a related goal in their service plan 
    • The proportion of people who report their service plan includes things that are important to them 
    • The proportion of people who express they want to increase independence in functional skills (ADLs) who have a related goal in their service plan
    • The proportion of people who report they are supported to learn new things 
    • The proportion of people who report satisfaction with the level of participation in community inclusion activities

    Four measures in the NQF HCBS Domain: Community Inclusion

    • The proportion of people who reported that they do not feel lonely often 
    • The proportion of people who reported that they have friends who are not staff or family members 
    • The proportion of people who report adequate transportation 
    • The proportion of people who engage in activities outside the home 

    Four measures in the NQF HCBS Domain: Choice and Control

    • The proportion of people who reported they chose or were aware they could request to change their staff 
    • The proportion of people who reported they could change their case manager/service coordinator 
    • The proportion of people who live with others who report they can stay home if they choose when others in their house/home go somewhere
    • The proportion of people who report making choices (independently or with help) in life decisions 

    And one measure in the NQF HCBS Domain: Human and Legal Rights

    • The proportion of people who report that their personal space is respected in the home
